It is a plant for a warm spot; draughts and a cold windowsill cause leaf drop. Place it in a bright spot, out of direct midday sun. Keep the soil evenly moist and let the top layer dry out a little between waterings. It likes slightly higher humidity, so misting it now and then does it good.
