The alpine mix is a collection of 24 compact perennials that originally come from mountain regions. They stay low, grow in cushions and clumps and flower in mixed colours. The plants come in a ø7 cm pot and are 10 to 12 cm tall on delivery.

Plant them in a rock garden, at the front of the border, in small beds or in low containers on the patio. With 24 plants you fill a good-sized area in one go, and because they are perennials, they come back every year. They want full sun and soil that drains well. The mix is hardy and tolerates severe frost, but hates wet feet. Cut them back in March; beyond that they need little attention.

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How tall does the alpine mix grow?

The plants in the alpine mix grow to about 15 cm tall and spread mainly in width. On delivery they are 10 to 12 cm tall in a ø7 cm pot.

Where do you plant the alpine mix?

In full sun, in soil that drains well. A rock garden, the front of a border, a small bed or a low container on the patio are good spots.

Is the alpine mix hardy?

Yes, the alpine mix can handle severe frost, down to about -20 °C. Mountain plants cope worse with wet soil in winter than with cold, so make sure drainage is good.

When do you prune the alpine mix?

Cut the plants back in March. They then put out fresh growth and stay compact.

How often do you water the alpine mix?

After planting, water regularly until the plants have established. After that water is only needed during longer dry spells; check containers more often.

How is the alpine mix delivered?

Your plants are shipped upright in their own plant box, with the pots secured. In frost or heat a heat pack or cold pack is included. Order from Sunday to Wednesday and you will usually have them within 2-3 working days; from Thursday to Saturday usually within 4-5 working days (Netherlands only).
