Choose an artificial ficus as Ficus lyrata with large, broad leaves or as Ficus benjamina with small leaves, also variegated. They are UV-resistant, can stand indoors or outdoors and never need watering.

Ficus lyrata or Ficus Benjamina

The artificial Ficus lyrata has large, wavy leaves shaped like a violin. That is why it is also called the fiddle leaf fig. It is a plant with a bold, modern look. You will find it here in heights of 90, 125, 150, 160, 180 and 210 cm.

The artificial Ficus Benjamina, on the other hand, has small leaves on thin, drooping branches. It looks like a small tree and suits a classic or country-style interior. The Variegata has variegated leaves with a light edge, which makes the plant look airier. The Benjamina comes in sizes from 85 to 205 cm.

Which height to choose

We measure height from the bottom of the pot to the tallest leaf. An artificial ficus of 85 to 90 cm goes on the floor next to a chair or on a low cabinet. From 125 to 160 cm the plant pairs well with a sofa or dining table. An artificial ficus of 180 to 210 cm fills an empty corner or a room with a high ceiling. The pot size is in the product name, from ø12 to ø23 cm. Larger models are also under large artificial plants.

Why an artificial ficus

A real ficus can be fussy. A Benjamina often drops leaves after a move or in a draught, and a Ficus lyrata wants lots of light. An artificial ficus has none of those issues. Maintenance and cleaning

The only maintenance is removing dust. Wipe the large leaves of a Ficus lyrata with a soft, slightly damp cloth. For a Benjamina with lots of small leaves, a feather duster or a hairdryer on the cold setting is quicker. No need to avoid the sun: an artificial ficus is UV-resistant and does not fade.
