Pros and cons

According to our plant experts

Pro: Needs no water or light, so it can also go in a dark spot.
Pro: Always keeps its shape and never drops leaves.
Pro: Large leaves make this 150 cm plant a real eye-catcher.
Con: Does not purify the air or grow over time the way a real plant does.
Con: Collects dust, so you need to wipe the leaves with a damp cloth now and then.

Details

This Artificial Strelitzia Nicolai (Bird of Paradise) plant instantly brings tropical allure into your home with large, lifelike banana-like leaves in fresh green. Maintenance-free and lush all year round — ideal for those who love a statement jungle look without the hassle of care.

Species: Strelitzia nicolai (artificial plant) · Height: 150 cm · Material: plastic

This artificial plant replicates the white bird of paradise (Strelitzia nicolai), with large, broad leaves on long stems that grow fan-shaped from the centre. At 150 cm tall it gives a tropical feel to a living room, bedroom or office. A living Strelitzia nicolai wants plenty of light, but this artificial plant needs no light, water or feeding. That means you can also place it in a corner without a window, a corridor or a room with little daylight. The leaves don't split and never get brown edges. Dust the broad leaves now and then with a slightly damp cloth, and they'll keep their colour. The decorative pot is chosen separately.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Strelitzia nicolai

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How do you clean an artificial Strelitzia nicolai?

Wipe the leaves now and then with a slightly damp cloth and it will look fresh again. The artificial Strelitzia nicolai needs no other care: no water, no feeding and no sun.

How real does an artificial Strelitzia nicolai look?

It is a lifelike replica, with large, banana-like leaves in a fresh green. From a few metres away most people cannot tell it is an artificial plant. Very close up, or if you touch the leaves, you will notice it is not real.

Does an artificial Strelitzia nicolai fit in a decorative pot?

The artificial Strelitzia nicolai comes in a standard pot. Place it, pot and all, in a decorative pot a few centimetres wider so the pot is hidden. As it never needs watering, the decorative pot does not need a watertight base.

Can you put an artificial Strelitzia nicolai outside or in the sun?

Yes. The artificial Strelitzia nicolai is UV and weather resistant, so it can also go outside, for example on the patio or balcony. The colours stay looking good, even in the sun. Outdoors, make sure it stands firmly or weigh down the pot so it doesn't blow over in strong wind.

How is an artificial Strelitzia nicolai delivered?

We ship the artificial Strelitzia nicolai well protected in a closed box. The largest plants go with a specialist carrier, others with PostNL or DHL. It usually arrives within 4 to 5 working days. If anything is damaged on arrival, send us photos and we will sort out a solution.
