The Chamaedorea seifrizii, also known as the bamboo palm or reed palm, usually grows to around 1.5 to 2 metres indoors. It grows in several slender stems and so also becomes somewhat wider. At XXLplant you can buy it from 140 to 150 cm tall, measured including the nursery pot.
What is the difference between Chamaedorea seifrizii and Chamaedorea elegans?
Both are parlour palms that do well as houseplants. The Chamaedorea elegans stays smaller and is often sold as a table palm. The seifrizii grows with several cane-like stems and narrower leaves and gets a lot taller, which makes it suitable as a large floor plant.
Is the Chamaedorea seifrizii toxic to cats?
No, the Chamaedorea seifrizii is listed by the ASPCA as non-toxic to cats and dogs. That makes it a good palm for a home with pets.
Where should you place a Chamaedorea seifrizii?
Choose a spot with bright, indirect light or partial shade and no direct sun. It does well at room temperature and should not stand anywhere colder than about 12 °C. In dry air it helps to mist the leaves now and then.
How often should you water a Chamaedorea seifrizii?
Keep the soil evenly and lightly moist; this palm mustn't dry out, but mustn't stand in water either. Feel the top layer regularly and water as soon as it starts to dry out. It needs less in winter than in summer.
How is a Chamaedorea seifrizii delivered?
The plant leaves us upright in its own plant box, with the crown in a paper sleeve and the pot secured. In frost or heat we add a heat pack or cold pack, and the largest plants go with a specialist carrier, otherwise PostNL or DHL. It usually arrives within 4 to 5 working days.
