This Croton Petra is 30 cm tall including nursery pot and comes in a pot of ø12 cm. It grows steadily and branches over the years.
Where should you place a Croton Petra?
In a bright spot, including a few hours of morning or evening sun if desired. Light makes the colours brighter. Keep it away from draughts and preferably do not move it too often.
How often should you water a Croton Petra?
Keep the soil evenly moist; in summer this is often once a week. If the pot dries out completely, it will quickly let its leaves droop or fall.
Is a Croton Petra toxic to cats and dogs?
Yes, the croton is toxic to cats and dogs. The sap irritates the mouth and stomach and can also irritate the skin. Wear gloves when pruning it.
Why is my Croton Petra dropping leaves?
A croton reacts to change, such as a new location, draughts or cold, by dropping leaves. Give it a permanent, bright and warm spot and keep the soil evenly moist, and it will usually recover.
Can a Croton Petra be kept outdoors?
In summer it can, in a warm and sheltered spot without intense midday sun. Bring it indoors as soon as the temperature drops below about 15 °C at night.
