Ask your questionHow tall does the alpine mix ground cover grow?
Rock plants stay low and mainly grow in width. On delivery they are about 17 cm tall including nursery pot of ø14 cm. How wide they become varies per variety in the mix.
Where is the best place to plant the alpine mix?
In a sunny to semi-shaded spot with soil that drains well, such as the front of the border, a rock garden or between stones. They also do well in pots and containers on a balcony or patio.
How often do you water the alpine mix?
Water regularly after planting until the plants are established. After that, rock plants in open ground only need water during longer dry spells. In pots the soil dries out faster, so check more often there.
Is the alpine mix hardy?
Yes, the plants in this mix are hardy. More than cold, rock plants suffer from wet soil in winter, which is why well-draining soil is important.
When does the alpine mix flower?
That varies per variety in the mix; rock plants usually flower in spring and summer. On delivery the plant is usually not yet in flower.
How is the alpine mix delivered?
Your plants are shipped upright in their own plant box, with the pots secured. In frost or heat, a heat pack or cold pack is included. Order from Sunday to Wednesday and you will usually have them within 2-3 working days; from Thursday to Saturday usually within 4-5 working days (Netherlands only).
