This ivy comes in a hanging pot of ø24 cm, with vines hanging over the edge. The vines grow further every year and you can trim them back if they become too long.
Where should you hang ivy indoors?
In a bright spot without harsh afternoon sun, preferably in a cool room. It develops spider mites more quickly in a warm, dry living room. A hallway, bedroom or veranda is therefore well suited.
How often should you water ivy?
Keep the potting compost slightly moist and allow the top layer to dry between waterings, usually once a week in summer. A hanging pot dries out more quickly, so regularly feel the compost.
Is ivy toxic to cats and dogs?
Yes, ivy (Hedera helix) is toxic to cats and dogs. The leaves and berries can cause vomiting and diarrhoea.
Can ivy also hang outdoors?
Hedera helix is naturally hardy, so the hanging pot can easily stay outside in a sheltered spot during summer. The roots freeze more quickly in a pot than in open ground, so bring it indoors during severe frost or place it in a sheltered spot.
