Veelgestelde vragen over Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead'
De vragen die we het vaakst krijgen over deze plant. Staat jouw vraag er niet bij? Onze plantexperts helpen je graag.
Stel je vraagHow many lavender 'Munstead' do you need per m²?
Plant about 9 plants per square metre, 30 to 35 cm apart. For a low hedge allow 3 to 4 plants per metre. The calculator on this page converts your area into a number of plants.
When do you plant lavender?
Plant lavender in spring from March to May or early in autumn in September and October. Planted in spring, it has enough time to root well before winter.
Where should you plant lavender 'Munstead'?
In full sun, in well-drained soil. In shade or in wet soil it grows floppy and flowers little. In a pot, water must be able to drain away.
Is lavender 'Munstead' hardy?
Yes, 'Munstead' is a hardy English lavender. The grey-green leaves stay on the plant in winter. Wet soil in winter is more dangerous than frost.
How do you prune lavender?
After flowering, cut off the spent spikes. In April prune it into shape, to just above the old wood. Do not cut into bare woody branches, as it sprouts poorly from them.
