Lesser periwinkle (Vinca minor) is an evergreen ground cover with glossy dark green leaves on long, trailing stems. From March to June it flowers with small blue flowers, with most flowers in April and May. The plants come in a ø9 cm pot and are 10 to 25 cm tall on delivery.

The stems root where they touch the ground, so it quickly forms a dense mat. This makes it suitable under trees and shrubs, on banks and in planting beds where you do not want weeds. Lesser periwinkle grows on any soil type, in sun and shade, although in full sun it needs moist soil. It is hardy and the plant is toxic if eaten.
