Details

ZZ plant with glossy, dark green foliage, 95 cm tall. A hardy houseplant that needs little water and also copes with less light.

Species: Zamioculcas zamiifolia · Height: 95 cm (including nursery pot) · Pot size: ø21 cm

Zamioculcas zamiifolia, also known as the ZZ plant, has long stems with glossy, dark green leaflets arranged like feathers in two rows. This plant is 95 cm tall including the nursery pot and comes in a ø21 cm pot.

It is one of the easiest houseplants and suits the living room, office or a hall with little daylight. If you have little time, it is a good choice: the thick rhizomes store water, so watering every two to three weeks is generally enough. Let the soil dry out completely in between. Partial shade is ideal, bright sun is not. The plant contains calcium oxalate and is toxic to cats and dogs.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Zamioculcas zamiifolia

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How large is this ZZ plant?

This Zamioculcas zamiifolia is 95 cm tall, measured including the nursery pot, and comes in a ø21 cm pot. It grows slowly and occasionally produces a new stem.

How often should you water a ZZ plant?

Every two to three weeks, and only when the soil is completely dry. The plant stores water in its rhizomes, so too much water is a greater risk than too little.

Can a ZZ plant be placed in a dark room?

It tolerates low light better than most houseplants. It grows best in partial shade; in a very dark corner it will stay alive, but barely grow.

Is a ZZ plant toxic to cats and dogs?

Yes, the ZZ plant is toxic to cats and dogs. Its sap contains calcium oxalate, which irritates the mouth and stomach. Keep it out of reach of pets that chew on plants.

Why is my ZZ plant getting yellow leaves?

Yellow leaflets are almost always caused by too much water. Let the soil dry out completely before watering again and make sure no water remains in the pot.
