Pros and cons

According to our plant experts

Pro: Needs no water or light, so it can also stand in a dark spot.
Pro: Always keeps its shape and never drops leaves.
Pro: Arching palm fronds give a calm, tropical look.
Con: Does not purify the air or grow over time the way a real plant does.
Con: Collects dust, so you need to wipe the leaves with a damp cloth now and then.

Details

This artificial Kentia Palm instantly brings an elegant, tropical atmosphere into your home with lifelike, gracefully overhanging palm leaves. Maintenance-free and always full — ideal for those who love the timeless jungle look without the hassle of care.

Species: Howea forsteriana (artificial plant) · Height: 180 cm · Material: plastic

This artificial plant replicates a kentia palm (Howea forsteriana), with long, arching fronds that fan outward from top to bottom. At a height of 180 cm it fills an empty corner in the living room, a hallway or an office. The palm needs no light, water or feeding, so it also works in spots with no daylight, such as a corridor, a lift lobby or a meeting room. It stays full and green all year round and never drops a leaf. The only maintenance is dusting it now and then with a duster or a slightly damp cloth. This gives you a large piece of greenery with no upkeep, even if you're often away. A decorative pot is chosen separately.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Howea forsteriana

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How do you clean an artificial kentia palm?

Wipe the leaves now and then with a slightly damp cloth and it will look fresh again. The artificial kentia palm needs no other maintenance: no water, no feeding and no sun.

How real does an artificial kentia palm look?

It is a lifelike replica, with gracefully arching palm fronds. From a few metres away most people cannot tell it is an artificial plant. Up close, or if you touch the leaves, you will notice it is not real.

Will an artificial Kentia palm fit in a decorative pot?

The artificial kentia palm comes in a standard pot. Place it, pot and all, in a decorative pot a few centimetres wider so the pot is hidden. As it never needs watering, the decorative pot does not need a watertight base.

Can you put an artificial kentia palm outside or in the sun?

Yes. The artificial Kentia palm is UV- and weather-resistant, so it can also go outside, for example on a patio or balcony. The colours stay good, even in the sun. Outdoors, do place it firmly or weigh down the pot so it doesn't blow over in strong wind.

How is an artificial Kentia palm delivered?

We ship the artificial Kentia palm well protected in a closed box. The largest plants go with a specialist carrier, others with PostNL or DHL. It usually arrives within 4 to 5 working days. If anything is damaged on arrival, send us photos and we will sort out a solution.
