Our large artificial plants start at just over 1 metre tall, including ficus, bamboo, maple, olive tree, banana plant and cherry blossom. They are UV-resistant, can stand indoors or outdoors and never need watering.
A large artificial plant goes on the floor, so height and width decide how it sits in the room. In this collection the plants range from 123 to 180 cm. A plant of 125 to 140 cm looks lovely next to a sofa or reading chair without taking over the room. From 160 cm it becomes an eye-catcher in a corner, a hallway or next to a window with a high ceiling. We measure height from the bottom of the pot to the tallest leaf, so you know exactly what you will get.
Got a narrow spot? Choose bamboo or eucalyptus: they mainly grow upwards. A Ficus lyrata, banana plant or Kentia palm has large leaves and takes up more width. You will find more fiddle leaf figs and Benjaminas under artificial Ficus.
Species and styles
Green leaves are only part of the range. There are flowering trees such as ornamental cherry and cherry blossom in pink or white. There are deciduous trees such as oak, maple and Acer palmatum. And there are tropical leaves, such as Monstera, Strelitzia nicolai and the banana plant. For a Mediterranean feel, the 140 or 180 cm artificial olive tree is a good choice. For a calm, light interior, eucalyptus and bamboo suit the Japandi style well.
Indoors or outdoors
Many people look for large artificial plants for outdoors, for example for a patio or balcony. That works: all XXLplant artificial plants are UV-resistant, so the leaves do not fade in the sun. A large plant does catch a lot of wind, though. Put it in a heavy pot and secure it extra well in a storm, or bring it inside for a while.
Maintenance and cleaning
An artificial plant needs no water, food or light. So you can also put it in a dark hallway or an office without windows. The leaves do collect dust, though. Here is how to keep it looking neat:
Wipe large leaves with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
Clean fine leaves, such as on bamboo or Benjamina, with a feather duster or a hairdryer on the cold setting.
Turn the plant a quarter turn now and then so it looks full from every side.
All 32 plants in this collection are pet-friendly.

Frequently asked questions
How big is a large artificial plant?
This collection covers artificial plants from 123 to 180 cm tall. Height is measured from the bottom of the pot to the tallest leaf. In a living room with a standard ceiling, a plant of 150 to 180 cm stands out most without dominating the space.
Can you put a large artificial plant outside?
Yes. All XXLplant artificial plants are UV-resistant, so a large artificial plant does not fade in the sun and can stand on a patio, balcony or in the garden. Set the pot down firmly so it does not blow over in the wind, and rinse the leaves with water now and then.
How do you clean a large artificial plant?
Wipe large leaves with a soft, slightly damp cloth. For fine leaves, a feather duster or a hairdryer on the cold setting works best. Do this every few weeks and the leaves will stay fresh in colour and the plant will look well kept.
How much does a large artificial plant cost?
At XXLplant large artificial plants cost from €97.95 to €399. The price depends mainly on the height and how full the plant is. A wide plant with lots of leaves, such as a 180 cm Kentia palm or olive tree, sits at the top of that range.
Is a large artificial plant safe for cats and dogs?
All 32 artificial plants in this collection are pet-friendly. They have no sap or leaves that a pet could eat, unlike some real plants. If you have a cat that likes to chew leaves, do put the plant somewhere it cannot keep pulling at the branches.
